Earthquake relief Programme in Nepal (2072 Baisakh 12).


We Kapilvastu Samaj UK is pleased to let you know that we have been coordinating the collection, logistics and distribution of donations and relief materials since day 1. With the support of generous people, we have already collected £7688. 86.

At First attempt the relief materials (blanket, tent, clothes and dry foods) were sent to Sindhuplanchowk via Gorkha British Army .

Secondly we sent all those relief materials through Bikash Nepal based at Feltham to Bivekshil Nepali team in Nepal.

Thirdly we sent a pack of rice 25 kg bag, beaten rice 5 kg bag, noodle 1 box for each 550 people and 96 tents to Sawara VDC Gorkha district. It was done in association with the PasaPucha Guthi South East London. Total cost for this relief project was NRs 8, 08,001.00.

(Kapilvastu Samaj UK Rs.430501.00 and Pasa Puchah Guthi, South east London NRs 377500.00). These items were distributed in the coordination of Mahendra Bikram Kunwar (VP Kapilvastu Samaj UK) Trusty from Help Nepal Network uk Mr Bivek Shrestha and Dinesh Shrestha, Ganesh Shirish (Volunteer from Kapilvastu).

Some of those relief materials were also sent to Bhaktrapurand Lalitpur. It was distributed in coordination of Mahendra Bikram Kunwar (VP Kapilvastu Samaj UK) Manish Shrestha ( Past president of pasa puchah Guthi south east london ) and Dinesh Shrestha, Ganesh Shirish (Volunteer from Kapilvastu) and International Nepalese artist society (INSA) team .

Fourtly a pack 25 kg rice, beaten rice 5 kg, and noodles 1 box for 500 people each and 35 tents were distributed in Taruka VDC and Samari VDC, Nuwakot. It was done with the coordination of NRN UK, CHILDREN FOR CHILDREN Nepal team and local volunteers. Furthermore Mahindra Kunwar (VP Kapilvastu Samaj UK), Sabin Maharjan and Dinesh Shrestha, Ganesh Shirish( Volunteer from Kapilvastu)were worked in the field. Total cost for this relief project was NRs 6,38,000.00

fifthly a pack 25 kg rice, beaten rice 5 kg, and noodles 1 box for 62 house each were distributed in Dhading, Chhatra Deurali VDC , Kamitar. It was done with the coordination of Milap Masik Patrika team and local volunteers. Furthermore Mahendra Bikram Kunwar (VP Kapilvastu Samaj UK), Dinesh Shrestha, Manohar Bikram Kunwar, Ganesh Shirish, Achuit Kumar Tandan( Volunteer from Kapilvastu)were worked in the field.

Sixthly a pack 15 kg rice, beaten rice 5 kg, and noodles 1 box for 40 house each were distributed in Kavre, Mahadevsthan VDC , Rayobari. It was done with the coordination of Napal Kalakar Sangha and Milap Masik Patrika team and local volunteers. Furthermore Mahendra Bikram Kunwar (VP Kapilvastu Samaj UK), Dinesh Shrestha, Manohar Bikram Kunwar, Ganesh Shirish, Achuit Kumar Tandan( Volunteer from Kapilvastu)were worked in the field.

So far, in the total Kapilvastu Samaj UK is pleased to let all donors know that we have distributed relief materials, equivalent to Rs 10,68,501.00 (£ 6939.0). The total amount that has been collected is £ 7688.86.

Furthermore, we would like to give thanks to Durgeshwori Transport owner, Mr Dinesh Shrestha for providing a free transport to distribute the relief items.

Dear all,
Still we have lots of items ( tent and dry foods) in our collection centre which is very important to send to Nepal, but as you know we don't have free cargo anymore. We are required to pay the minimum charge per kg, £1.40, that's why we would like to request to donate as much as you can.
